Item Description
Herend Hungary porcelain creamer and covered sugar bowl set, model numbers 1643/RO (creamer) and 1663/RO (covered sugar bowl), executed in the iconic Rothschild Bird (RO) pattern. Each piece is meticulously hand-painted and richly detailed, displaying colorful birds perched on leafy branches with necklaces, surrounded by vibrant butterflies and insects rendered in hues of yellow, blue, pink, and lavender. The porcelain features Herend’s classic basketweave (osier) texture near the rims. The sugar bowl is topped with a finial in the shape of a songbird, modeled and painted in natural brown and cream tones with delicate shading. The creamer features a soft green branch-like handle, accented with subtle gold gilt trim along the scalloped edge. Both pieces are finished with 24K gold highlights at the rims and bases. Undersides bear the Herend Hungary blue shield hallmark with crossed paintbrushes and HANDPAINTED inscription, along with the pattern and form numbers 1643/RO and 1663/RO.

Condition: Excellent overall. No chips, cracks, or restorations. The hand-applied gold trim is bright and complete, and all painted decorations are crisp and unmarred. The bird finial and handle are intact and perfect, showing no signs of wear. Minor expected shelf wear to the unglazed base rims only.
