The fabulous Giacomo Guardi (Italian, 1764-1835) Pen, ink and wash on paper depicts a Venetian scene "Venetian Festival on the Canale Grande at the Rialto", depicting a well detailed festival on the water.
The work is signed and inscribed.
Nicely matted and framed in an impressively carved and gilt wood frame, and glazed.
Exhibited at the Museum Zurich, 1955.
Provenance: Purchased from Alfred Brod Gallery, London, England in 1962 for 500 British Pounds.
Condition: Some wear and toning to gouache with some wear around where the gouache was adhered to the backing but despite wear the painting presents marvelously overall. See lot images for further visual inspection as they are considered part of the lot condition report.
