Fabulous antique Scottish nobleman's post finial, with clan crest, displayed on a lucite base.
This magnificent piece is topped with a Viscount's crown and decorated with three repeating clan crests with straps and buckles, indicating familial allegiance to the armigerous clan.
Decorating the actual clan crest is the half eagle, which is representative of a secondary inheritance (which would mean the second son of a Viscount and not the primary heir, making them titled "Honorable"); the cornucopia, symbolic of abundance; the greyhound rampant, which denotes courage, faithfulness and loyalty; and the bull rampant, which symbolizes valor. The three roses in the center can be looked at in several ways: a nod to either the houses of Lancaster or York; a Jacobite connection, or a possible connection to the Clan Primrose.
