Item Description
Boaz Vaadia (Israeli-American, 1951-2017) "Ah'av And Ovadyahu" limited edition bronze, bluestone and boulder sculpture resting on a custom built wooden pedestal base. The sculpture depicts to human figures, facing one another, with one standing with one leg raised and resting on a boulder of which the second figure is seated upon. The sculpture was signed with carved initials "VB" and additionally carved numbered "3/7" to the bluestone base. The sculpture rests atop its quality, custom built wooden pedestal base.

About the artist:
Boaz Vaadia (Israeli-American, 1951-2017) was an artist whom primarily worked in stone and subsequently bronze. Vaadia was based in New York City since 1975, where he primarily worked out of his studio in Brooklyn. Vaadia’s body of work tends to focus on human form, and man's connection to the earth. Vaadia said of his work, "I work with nature as an equal partner. The strongest thing I address is that primal connection of man to earth. It's in the materials I use, the environments I make, and the way I work."
Works by Vaadia are held in numerous public and private art collections and institutions, including the the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City; the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, California.
Condition
Good condition overall, very minor weathering and wear commensurate with display in the outdoors but covered by an overhanging ledge. See lot images.
