Louis Vuitton Antique Trunk in Monogram Canvas, Early 20th C.
The black metallic bound trunk, with metal handles and the monogram “A.H.C.” in red, surmounted by red star with the # 2. A central leather strap over the trunk. The trunk features an interior with three removable large canvas wrapped, stackable tray inserts. The trunk is further fitted with two black metal handles, one on either end with tack nailhead trim affixing the metallic bindings to the trunk. The interior of the lid with tufted upholstery.
The central brass locking clasp etched “3TE S.G.D.G. / PATENT / 1 RUE SCRIBE / PARIS / LOUIS VUITTON / LONDON / 143.NEW BOND STREET”
The brass clasp to the interior canvas trays marked “Paris / Louis Vuitton / London”. Additionally on original label to the interior box features a rectangular label marked “L.RUE SCRIBE PARIS / Louis Vuitton / 149. NEW BOND ST. LONDON” with a serial number “159862”. The trunk has an original skeleton key which has been engraved: “L. Vuitton, London / 014087”. Lastly, the trunk presents with its original canvas dust bag.

Condition
The canvas dust bag is heavily worn and decaying as it had protected the trunk. The canvas monogram trunk is worn with minor tears and wear commensurate with age and handling / usage. The trunk has leather strap that has torn but is present and could be repaired. There is wear to the metallic binding and overall but as far as antique Louis Vuitton trunks go it is in good form and presents very well. Original key untested and in unknown working condition.
