The current work depicts an architectural landscape with two figures appearing huddled together in the foreground. The painting depicts a dirt road with a structure standing with the help of slanted foundation in which a street lamp stands just left of center. Trees with a blue sky featuring poofs of clouds above. The painting is signed lower right.
Presented custom framed with thin linen filet with brass name placard within an impressive wood and gesso frame.
Provenance: The estate of a lady, Mamaroneck, NY. Galerie J. Le Chapelin. Additionally with an International moving company "The International Removers Pitt & Scott Ltd." from 1961 on verso.

About the Artist:
Alphonse Léon Quizet, also known as Alphonse Léon Quizet, was a French artist born in 1885. As an artist, Quizet was influenced by impressionist artists including Vincent Van Gogh and primarily focused on painting expressive and detailed landscapes and cityscape scenes, primarily of the Montmartre district of Paris. His working style often features expressive and vibrant colors palette and brushstrokes, utilizing impasto for a three dimensional effect.

The painting board is loose in the frame on verso and should be resupported. There is wear to the liner and frame commensuarte with age and handling. Slight nics and wear to the trim where the painting on board meets the frame but overall a wonderful painting that presents well.
