Glamourous, Sophisticated, Always Classic
Growing up in Sutter Buttes (in northern California) Luis Enrique Hill's love for homes and beautiful objects began at an early age. He started cleaning homes with his mom and was given the task of cleaning the China cabinets with gorgeous crystal and fine chinaware.
After graduating with his A.S. in Interior Design, he moved to various cities including Sacramento, San Francisco, DC. He finally landed himself in New York, his home for the last 11 years.
Luis worked in retail furniture showrooms, showcasing furniture and decor and offering Interior Design Services. He quickly learned about available products, developed professional relationships with vendors, and curated all types of homes with different aesthetics.
Eight year later, he ventured out on his own. He created his design firm, Luis Enrique Design, based in Harlem, NY. As a result, he's better able to capture, and most importantly, listen to his clients’ needs and desires.
“Creating spaces my clients can thrive in is what I love to do,” Luis tells Black Rock Galleries.

Luis describes his personal aesthetic style as “glamourous, sophisticated, and always classic.” He loves incorporating one of a kind pieces to make his clients’ home feel special.
“I want the spaces we created to reflect my clients’ needs and individual lifestyles,” he explains.

With that in mind, Luis made BRG one of his go-to destinations to shop for unique and exceptional items. One of his favorite ultra-glamorous and sophisticated design pieces was purchased at Black Rock Galleries. It was a vintage Friedman Brothers oversized gilt mirror. Luis utilized it as a focal point in his client’s dining room.
“Gilded in gold leaf, the mirror adds depth and was the last piece we found for the space. It brought some drama, which I always love in my clients’ homes,” explains Luis.
