Three Reasons to Love Our New Dallas GM
The entire team here at BRG is excited to introduce our newest BRGer who will head-up operations of BRG-Dallas as General Manager ... Lisa Steele. We love her and we know you will too. To help you get to know her a bit, here are three reasons to love her (there are obviously countless reasons, but we'll stick with our top three today) ….
1) Someone with Lisa’s background and passion on the BRG team is AWESOME!
We expect Lisa to take the Dallas market by storm! Lisa, a native Texan, comes to us with an extensive background in estates and online auctions. In fact, she discovered her love of traditional estate auctions in the late 90’s and would bring her (then) boyfriend, Jarrett, along for auction dates every Friday.
Before long, one Friday evening, the auctioneer called out that he had a ring for someone in the audience and that someone was Lisa. Her boyfriend proposed at the auction and auction fever never left.
2) Having a "born n' bred" Texan head-up our Texas office is as BIG as Texas!
As we have expanded along the East Coast, all of our regional general managers originally started with BRG at our home-base in Connecticut. That all changed with Lisa, the first non-BRG insider to head one of our regional showroom warehouses.
Lisa comes from the small east-Texas town of Longview. Yes, she knows the McConaugheys. Her mom taught pre-school with Kay Mac and Lisa, herself, hung-out with Matthew’s older brother Patrick. Lisa has lived in "Big D" (a.k.a. Dallas) since college -- holding various communication positions at major CPG companies around the city. She even met her husband (yes, the one who proposed to her during an auction -- see #1 above) at work.
3) She's got the love, love, love, love of auctions down in her heart!
Although she has an early career background in other industries, Lisa eventually chose to work for an online auction company in order to pursue her passion. Beginning her new career as a cataloger, she learned the business and was promoted to Consignment Manager. When the company abandoned the Dallas market, Lisa was determined to continue in the field and started-up her own online auction business, Auction Awe. While Auction Awe was AWEsome, when she learned that BRG was heading to Dallas she didn’t pass-up the opportunity to let us know she was interested in working with us. The rest is now history.
When she’s not doing auction-y things, Lisa is usually relaxing poolside, with her husband and daughter along with the family Shih Tzu, Cici.
If you happen to be in the Dallas area, feel free to pop a quick welcome email to Lisa or give her a "howdy" call. She'll will be delighted to hear from you and happy to help you with any of the your consignment or estate needs too.
