BRG is pleased to offer this personal estate collection filled with the life's work of renowned female artist, Norma Flanagan. The works in this sale come from her fresh-to-the-market personal art collection. She was described in the 90s by the NYTimes as an artist whose work "transcends genres" and "deserves serious attention." In her artist statement, Norma explained, "Creating art is a necessary experience in my daily life. It has made me aware of really seeing and feeling everything around me rather than just looking at the world." This is a great opportunity to own a fantastic work of art from a local, talented, and successful fine artist. Happy bidding!
About the Artist:
Norma, a Greenwich, CT resident for 62 years was a member of a variety of artist societies, including the Silvermine Guild of Artists located in New Canaan, CT, the Stone Sculpture Society of NY, the National Association of Women Artists, and the New York Society of Women Artists, Norma broke the mold of traditional 1950s housewives and came to fine art in her twenties. Her diverse-ranging interests and curious mind allowed her to venture into a variety of genres including ceramics, paintings, jewelry designs, and incredible sculptures (beginning with stone and eventually welded sculpture). All the while, she worked with oils and acrylics and created custom jewelry.
